Jason grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA, in a Christian home. He received his B.S. in Music Education from Bob Jones University and his Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary - Charlotte. After serving in a number of areas as a member at Downtown Presbyterian Church, he went on staff at Shannon Forest PCA (now Eastside PCA) and has spent the last 6.5 years as Assistant Pastor at Christ Community PCA in Simpsonville, SC. At Christ Community he lead worship, taught 3 year olds, preached, administered sacraments, and led a community group which has grown and multiplied. He was ordained as a teaching elder in the PCA in 2013. He also has a variety of experience in the non-profit, para-church, and corporate sectors. He’s usually talking sports (he bleeds black & gold), finding deals on hot wings, cracking Dad jokes, and/or playing with his children. Abbye grew up in Watkinsville, GA, and her family regularly attended church. She received her B.A. in Religion and Minored in both History & Christian Education from Presbyterian College. She spent 6 years on staff with Campus Outreach Greenville where she helped launch a new chapter at Clemson University and later became Regional Women’s Director. She has taught Sunday School, led Bible studies, started Mentor Moms at her church, and coached other women in ministry. When not keeping tiny humans alive, Abbye is cheering on her beloved UGA Bulldogs (Go Dawgs!), enjoying a cup of coffee, or reading a great book. Jason and Abbye are joined by their older son, Joseph, their younger son, Patrick, and their daughter, Ivye. North Augusta is part of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). The Savannah River is the defining geographic feature of our area. The river is also used in the Bible as a way to denote God’s presence. Younger children ages 3 years old through Kindergarten are dismissed during the sermon for a time of children’s teaching. While we don’t have big productions, we do have room to grow. We have space to be known and seen. We have room to belong. North Augusta Fellowship is a place for you and your gifts. We’re participatory - Our worship gathering lasts around 1 hour and 15 minutes and includes elements that has the congregation reciting written prayers together, reading ancient creeds, hearing a 30-minute sermon, celebrating weekly Communion, and singing songs that both are centuries old and ones you might here on the radio. Our music is not too high for your voice, not overproduced, and with a volume that allows us to hear each other sing. We believe that worship is what all of God’s people do together. If you don’t know what to do, don’t worry…We are always letting people know what’s happening next in the service and we welcome people who’ve never been in church before. North Augusta Fellowship is a place you can participate. We’re Simple and Accessible - We believe that all people are called to worship God. This means people who have been in the church for a long time but also people who are new to church and new to Jesus. We don’t assume that you’re familiar with anything and do our best to always be orienting people and explaining what’s happening in understandable ways.
